Student Support Services @WSB

Overview

There are a variety of WSB-specific student support services available. While these services are targeted toward supporting students, they also work with instructors in many ways. Read more below about the Student Success and Policy Team, Business Badger Study Cooperative, Presenting and Writing Lab, and a video playlist of mental health resources and support both here in Grainger and across campus.

Student Success & Policy Team

The Student Success & Policy Team is available to support both undergraduate business students and their instructors.

For students:

Success coaching is a holistic approach to helping students maximize their potential and reach goals. Undergraduate students can attend drop-in sessions (see below) with Success Coaches or schedule a 1-on-1 appointment on Starfish. Success coaches help all Business Badgers who are:

  • seeking academic skill development
  • facing personal challenges
  • looking to thrive as a student and professional
  • in danger of being placed on academic probation
  • on academic probation

For Instructors:

Student Success team members Jackie Murray and Dr. Lucy Armentano work with instructors, faculty, and staff wishing to discuss student and/or classroom concerns. They can help with:

  • Academic policy questions (e.g. when is it appropriate to grant a student an incomplete?)
  • Challenging student situations. We can provide resource referrals as well as offer our Success Coaching and mental health counseling services to students, when appropriate.
  • Other topics in the realm of student success and policy: supporting students struggling academically, navigating McBurney accommodations, questions about tutoring, etc.
