Teaching Support
WSB offers a host of services to support students in both their personal and academic lives. Grainger houses its own library and learning commons, tutoring services, advising and mental health resources.
Grainger Library & Learning Commons
Grainger’s Business Library, Huber Computer Lab, Finance and Analytics Lab, and Active Learning Classrooms all reside within the three floors of the Learning Commons (see photos of the space). It also includes plenty of individual student study and group collaboration space.
Michael Enyart, the library’s Director, offers instructors assistance with:
- Assembling course reading packets: librarians can review your readings to determine:
- If students have access to them through the campus’ electronic library
- If hard copies of the work exist on campus
- If special permissions will be needed to use a work
- Copyright questions and clearance
- Harvard Business Resources: case and simulation access, use, and integration within Canvas
A Commitment to Supporting our Business Badgers
WSB offers a host of services to support students in both their personal and academic lives. In addition to the Grainger Business Library & Learning commons, there are tutoring services (BSC), Success Coaching, mental health provider-in-residence, Multicultural Center, and more! For more information about all the student support services at WSB provides, visit our Student Support Services @WSB page.
Campus Instructional Technology
Learn@UW refers to the suite of instructional technology supported by UW-Madison. The Learn@UW website lists the 12 products that are currently supported (this will be your most up-to-date resource). KnowledgeBase Documentation, commonly referred to as KB docs, are step-by-step how-to documents for most of the campus’ technology. Please be aware that selecting a learning technology that is not supported by Learn@UW means that neither your or your students will be able to request support from DoIT.
Canvas is our learning management system (LMS). All instructors are required to use Canvas for posting a syllabus. Most also use Canvas for distributing other learning materials and/or collecting student work. Generally, it is recommended that you use Canvas for recording student grades and delivering feedback on student work as it meets all FERPA compliance standards.
WSB also supports two additional tools: Harmonize (online discussions) and Feedback Fruits (Group evaluation tool). To learn more about these tech tools visit our New Tech for Teaching page.
Below are other useful resources for using campus tech tools for teaching:
- Canvas Instructor Community – You can find useful insights about practical uses of Canvas in this community (use your wisc.edu email to set up a free account)
- Canvas Instructor Guide provides very detailed steps for using all the Canvas functions.
- Student Software Library (free access for UW students)

- LinkedIn Learning provides a plethora of training on tech tools and more (log in with your NetID).
