Overview

Below you can find a variety of professional development programs for enhancing your teaching skills. Offered by a variety of departments across campus, all instructional staff are welcome to attend. Check details of each program for registration information. 

Enhancing Online Education (EOE)

Offered by UW-Madison’s Center for Teaching, Learning and Mentoring (CTLM) this program provides several options for improving your online course design and teaching skills.

    • Several topics: course planning, designing assessments, fostering community, cultivating inclusivity, and course management 
    • Two formats: 90-minutes webinars or asynchronous micro-courses (in Canvas)
    • Complete all topics in the series and earn a certificate and letter to your Dean.

Ready, Set, Teach!

Offered by UW-Madison’s Center for Teaching, Learning and Mentoring (CTLM) this one-day workshop is offered before spring and fall semesters.

    • Topics include: engagement, instructional technology, assessment & feedback, and more! 
    • Share ideas and challenges with colleagues from across campus.
    • Fall session is August 28, 9:00am-3:45pm at the Pyle Center — Lunch provided!

Learn@UW Instuctional Technologies

UW-Madison hosts a variety of learning technologies (e.g., Canvas, Piazza, TopHat, etc.). The TL&A team here at WSB can always offer support to you, but there are additional training opportunities available directly through DoIT.

    • Custom, live, and recorded training options available. 
    • User groups and communities.
    • Self-serve resources
