Syllabus & Deadlines page
The Syllabus & Deadlines page gives students a place to access the relevant information that pertains to the class in regards to what is expected of them throughout the semester.
This provides students a single location that they can go and get oriented to the class.
Module 0 is provided at the top of the modules page for each course, with the Syllabus & Deadlines page being located at the beginning.
Syllabus
- The syllabus should be linked within the module zero
- Information should be drawn out of the syllabus so it is more readily available to students and put into the appropriate places within module zero
- The first place students should look for information is module zero. If it is not found there then the syllabus should be the next place to look
Deadlines
- Canvas calendars are vital for students’ organization and success within classes
- All due dates for assignments should be imported to the canvas calendar so students have all of the deadlines ahead of time
- The due dates are not set in stone once they are put into the calendar and can be modified when needed
- If help is needed to import deadlines, please send an email to teaching@wsb.wisc.edu
Time Requirements
- Expected time requirements should be presented to students within the module zero
- This time varies per student and should be used as a standard
- For example, if a class is 3 credits, students should expect at least 3 hours of outside coursework/studying for each credit or 9 hours
